Mandala

A Mandala over a modern fireplace gives the room a contemporary look.
My livingroom has a beautiful contemporary fireplace in the middle of the room. On both sides of the fireplace are large windows that bring a lot of natural light into the room. The sun shines in during the evenings and really opens up the garden, bringing it as a part of our livingroom.

I do not want curtains for my livingroom. I do not want to hide the light nor the nature. The Venetian blinds are enough for the large screens and they give enough privacy when it is needed. They also control the amount of light in the room, at the same time helping that the room does not get too warm. By not having curtains I also wanted to create a space that resembles to an atelier or a loft.

To really salute the high ceilings I needed an interesting center piece on top of the fireplace. I wanted it to be soothing yet interesting. Beautiful yet modern. Artistic but not imperative. I needed the center piece to be fresh yet timeless. And I wanted it to be original, not a copy of a masterpiece in some museum.

As I set my mind on Mandala, I knew I wanted nothing else. My husband did not quite see at first what I had in mind, but he trusts me and told me I can choose whatever makes me happy. Let me tell you, that finding a Mandala was totally a different story! At some point I  thought booking tickets and flying to Thailand would be the easiest way to get one! It seemed impossible to find handmade Mandala with customized color from here.

After hours of searching the internet I found a small store which sells Mandalas and ships them worldwide. Siam Sawadee has a beautiful collection of Mandalas for which you can choose your own finishing color. All the Mandalas are handmade. The customer service was outstanding! And the shipment was prompt and the Mandala was well-backed. I truly, truly recommend Eve Naewmuang and her little shop!

And what comes to the Mandala… Well, take a look. It is stunning! Perfect in quality and the most beautiful piece of art I could have ever chosen for my livingroom!

The open concept livingroom offers a calming and soothing place to relax for the whole family.
The different patterns create a playfull and joyfull atmosphere for the livingroom.
The room offers a lot of seating for cozy get-togethers.
